| Over the Thanksgiving week ,we went to San Marcos,
Texas. On Thanksgiving day we went to Rio Vista Whitewater Park in San
Marcos. This will be the first time to kayak the San Marcos River.
We put in at The Lions Club tube rental. The float down river
was around 30 minutes. The fun began when we reach Rio Vista Park.
Rio Vista Park is a man made whitewater play park, there are three drops
starting with a large wave and ending with a small drop.
Stayed there all day, and played in the rapids.
On Friday met up with some other kayakers, we did the rapids several
times and after an hour or so of playing there we went down river.
There we came to a 4 to 5 foot water fall. We all got out of the
boats and scouted the falls. Bill was the first to go over, made it
look so easy, then Jill and Sandy, and last me. Sandy was learning to
kayak and she flip on the falls. I made it ok , That was my first big
drop. What a good day of paddling.
